Buttock stretches or glutes do play a major part in any issue you may have in and around your hips and lower back and that could throw off many different parts of the body as one imbalance can lead to another.
Make sure your buttock muscles are flexible as well as the pirifomis muscle as adequate movement in needed to ward off anty issues.
