Do orthotics work? What kind of shoes are best?

[sc:abs1]
Matt talks answers a common question about orthotics and how they can affect your pain and comfort levels. He also discusses what kind of shoes he prefers and why.

TL;DR: Orthotics affect the body but not always in good ways. Shoes that are flexible and spacious enough to allow good foot function are preferred. They do not have to be super minimalist with absolutely zero padding, but they also should NOT be super stiff with all kinds of extra support.
