Hamstring Workout: Best Hamstring Exercises For Mass (Weak Point Training Ep. 2)

Time to demolish those hamstrings! This hamstring workout is going to help you pack on a crazy amount of mass and also bring up a major weak point. Most guys do not have properly developed hamstrings and put a lot more emphasis on their quad development.

This workout is going to help you craft a crazy set of wheels by giving you 4 incredible exercises that will work your hamstrings from different angles.

Your hamstring development is crucial for building mass in your lower body, preventing injury, increasing your strength and explosion, and even helping you jump higher and run faster!

The reason behind this is because your hamstrings contain “fast twitch” muscle fibers which are responsible for your body’s explosive movements.

The more developed your fast twitch muscle fibers are the more explosive you will be on your compound lifts like the barbell deadlift and barbell squat.

Here is a breakdown of the hamstring workout. Do these 4 hamstring exercises to build mass!

Exercise 1: Kettlebell Deadlift (Stiff Leg)

The stiff leg deadlift is the ultimate in hamstring development and is the only compound exercise on this list. Make sure to watch the video to learn the proper form and keep that chest up so you don’t hurt your back.

Exercise 2: Smith Machine Hamstrings

This one is pretty similar to the stiff leg deadlift, but you will have tension on your hamstrings for the entire set and you will never go back up to the starting position until you rack the weight. (Watch the video so you can see precisely how to do this.)

Exercise 3: Prone Leg Curl Superset

The prone hamstring superset is a fantastic hamstring exercise to wrap up the workout with. You may not be able to walk for a few days after doing this one!

Exercise 4: Swiss Ball Hamstring Curls

See if you can beat my high score in the video! This is a bodyweight exercise done on a swiss ball, and will target the center of your hamstrings. The center portion of your hamstrings is where you explode from when you are jumping and running, and this exercise is awesome for guys to develop hamstring strength before they start doing the stiff leg dead lift.
