
The Opera Forward Festival (OFF) is the place to explore new and experimental opera. Alongside brand-new productions on the Main Stage, opera installations in Studio Boekman, and inspiring student labs where young creators present their bold creations, the entire theatre buzzes with performances and other context programmes that cast opera in a new light.
Opera Forward Festival was launched during the 50-year anniversary of De Nationale Opera. The festival explores the future of opera through the prism of the arts and society. I developed the brand- and campaign strategy, creative direction, website and programme.
Our team collaborated with Lesley Moore, Petrovsky & Ramone en brachten o.a. La Bolleur, Florian Mauersberger, Koelka.st & The Rest is Noise.
The festival was nominated for ‘best cross-over campaign’ by emerce and was for the MullerVisual Theaterafficheprijs 2015/2016.


Getting to develop the strategy, identity and programme of a brand new opera festival by one of the world’s leading opera houses was incredibly exciting. Bringing a new aesthetic and generation of culture lovers into dialogue with the venerable tradition made for a succesful formula that is now in its ninth iteration. New voices, new visions.
