Christopher F. Julien (Melbourne, 1982) is an author and philosopher based in Zaandam, the Netherlands. 

His PhD at Utrecht University bridges philosophy of science and political ecology, developing a field of ecological governance in times of collapse.

He works on the intersection of culture and ecology, with experience as a strategist, research director and concept developer.

Julien wrote Alledaags activisme (2024) and is now finishing a book on ecopopulism (De Geus). He sits on the supervisory boards of various cultural institutions and is the co-initiator of the Cultuurberaad Klimaat (Cultural Assembly for the climate), now run by Het Nieuwe Instituut. He holds cum laude masters degrees in Cultural Analysis and in Conflict Studies & Human Rights, and is a regular contributor to NRC and columnist for OneWorld magazine.
